Health and Safety

Friday, September 10, 2021

Dear Friend of Catholic Answers:

As an attendee of the 2021 National Conference from September 23-26, your health and safety—and that of all attendees—is very important to us. As a result, we are closely monitoring the recommended protocols and specified requirements of local, state, and federal authorities.

Cleanliness and Sanitation

We are working closely with our host hotel, the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine, to ensure the frequent cleaning of high-touch areas and meeting rooms throughout the conference. This is in addition to their existing processes for managing the cleanliness of guest rooms, eating and drinking venues, and other areas of the hotel available to overnight guests. Please visit https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/info/care-and-cleanliness-americas to see how the Hyatt is caring for its customers. You may also call the hotel at (858) 552-1234.

Face Coverings and Vaccination Status

Please be aware that, in accord with San Diego County’s current health and safety guidance, neither Hyatt nor Catholic Answers will require anyone to wear a face covering at our conference. Also, we will not be inquiring in any way about any attendee’s vaccination status. However, we encourage guests who would feel more comfortable wearing a face covering to do so and will happily provide one at the registration desk upon request.

Symptoms of Illness

As we look forward to welcoming you to the conference, we ask that you not attend any conference event if you experience symptoms of illness such as the following, either before or after arrival:

  • Cough
  • Unusual shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Muscle aches
  • Chills/shaking
  • Sudden loss of taste or smell
  • Fever greater than 100.4 degrees
  • Any other symptom that leads you to believe you are unwell

Changes to these Guidelines

Future revisions to health and safety protocols for the event, including cancelation of the event itself (if necessary), will be driven entirely by requirements instituted by local, state, and federal authorities. Please visit www.catholicanswersconference.com before the event to check for updates.

We are excited for a joyous 2021 Conference, and we thank you for attending. See you on September 23!

Yours in Christ,

The Catholic Answers Team
